KoCoS Optical Measurement GmbH develops, manufactures and sells laser optical measuring systems which are primarily used to automatically measure the contours and verify the geometrical parameters of a wide range of components which vary greatly in size, shape and surface condition.

These measuring systems offer all the advantages associated with non-contact measurement, including higher levels of accuracy and shorter measurement times in comparison with mechanical gauges. The modular design concept which is based on standardised hardware components makes it possible to cover a wide range of applications. The use of signal processors specially suited to each specific application enables “real time” evaluation.

The fields of application lie within the areas of research and development as well as shop-floor quality control. The product range does not only include complete systems for specific applications but also customised solutions for specialized measurement tasks.

As a rule, our measuring systems are operated and controlled using a PC and a software package which owes its very high degree of flexibility to script-based control and includes a wide range of automatic functions. Special machine operator user interfaces enable our systems to be operated easily without expert knowledge.

The product development team at KoCoS Optical Measurement GmbH has many years of experience in the field of optical measurement technology. KoCoS Optical Measurement GmbH has been trading as an independent company under the auspices of KoCoS Meßtechnik AG since 1999, harnessing the latter’s development and sales potential in the international sector in particular. The core business of KoCoS Meßtechnik AG includes measuring and test systems which can, for example, be used to carry out automatic tests on equipment in electrical distribution networks, such as high-voltage switchgear devices or protection relays.

KoCoS AG has been presented with several international innovation awards for outstanding developments in the fields of both laser optical and electrical measurement technology, including the “Oskar for medium-sized companies”.

Laser-optical measuring systems made by KoCoS Optical Measurement GmbH are currently being used by a number of companies in various branches of industry. They provide solutions to a wide range of geometrical measurement tasks, measuring various different components including ceramic catalytic converter monoliths, special wires, cutting tools and silicon wafers.
