Light-sectioning Measuring Systems



Applications


ARDAS-LS light-sectioning systems are used whenever the very highest levels of precision, absolute repeatability and high measuring speeds are required.
Because of the variability of the optical components used in the sensor and the different measuring ranges which result, workpieces which differ widely in shape and size can be measured.

The fact that measurements are largely unaffected by surface reflection properties is due to the measurement principle, making this measuring system suitable for workpieces made of a wide variety of different materials. Even workpieces with visible in-homogeneities or polished surfaces present no problem. The spectrum extends from metals through to ceramics, plastics and rubber.

Because of their compact dimensions, ARDAS-LS sensors can easily be integrated in existing production facilities. High measurement speeds and pre-processing of measured data within the sensor itself allow operation directly in the production line, even without a PC. ARDAS-LS light-sectioning sensors can also be incorporated in production control.  Complex measurement tasks often require several workpieces or more than one contour of a single workpiece to be measured simultaneously and evaluated correspondingly. The simple combination of several sensors enables the measuring systems of the ARDAS-LS range to meet this challenge. The results are combined and displayed in real time.
